Suppose Mohit Kumar is a resident of Jharkhand and his ration card is also from Jharkhand. Through this ration card, he will also be able to buy government ration in Bihar or Delhi at a reasonable price. The government says that this will reduce corruption and fake ration cards. Meaning that there will not be any limit or binding of rules. He can buy ration in any state of the country. The important thing is that no new ration card will be required for this. This means that only your old ration card will be valid for this.
Please tell that 17 states of the country including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have implemented ration card portability. Those implementing it include states like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Jharkhand and Tripura.
