In a first, the International Baccalaureate Board has decided that it will promote students studying in Classes X and XII. The IB Board has never taken such a drastic measure before but given the times of crisis which is affecting everyone and with the exams being cancelled in several parts of the country, the decision was imminent. A country wide lockdown has been in effect since 25th March 2020 until 3 weeks as ordered by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. Principal Jayshree Periwal of Jayshree Periwal International School, one of the few IB schools in Jaipur given the global nature of the crisis, the International Board has resorted to the solution. The children will be promoted to the higher class.
