The Uttarakhand Education Secretary has issued an order directing the government and private schools in the state to stop collecting the tuition fees from the students due to the COVID-19 spread in the country. In a letter addressed to the District Magistrates, the education secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram has stated that it has been brought to the notice of the government that some of the private schools are pressuring the parents of the students to submit the tuition fees immediately, condemning the move with the lockdown imposed in the state due to the COVID-19 spread in the country. She also added that the order to stop the collection of fees by all the government and private schools affiliated to the CBSE ICSE or the state boards has been issued and that the fee must not be collected until the situation normalizes.
